In certain cases, it is possible to repair a punctured tyre on a motorcycle. But it is unlikely that you will be able to make the correct diagnosis yourself. Why? Firstly, because you need to be able to access the inside of the tyre. Secondly, because it takes the eye of a professional to assess its condition and determine the correct diagnosis. Depending on the condition of your tyre, he will either repair it or recommend replacing it. For example, if you continue driving for some time after you have a puncture, this can lead to mottling on the inside of the tyre, making it more fragile. In practical terms, this means that the cords that structure the tyre inside the rubber have been badly deformed. A visible mottling inside the tyre indicates that these cords have become hot. In this case, the professional will not advise repair because the tyre has become dangerous to drive on. Tyre sealant kits: Tyre sealant is a type of gel that is introduced into the tyre via the valve to limit the risk of punctures. When the tyre rotates, the tyre sealant spreads over the entire inner surface so that it is evenly covered. The tyre sealant kit can be used as a preventive or curative measure. The preventive method is to spread the tyre sealant when the tyre is new in order to prevent punctures, The curative method is to spray it through the valve to seal the hole after a puncture. The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was initially launched in London in April 2019, covering the same eight sq mile area as the congestion charge. However, in October 2021, the ULEZ was extended to include all roads within the North & South Circular roads, an increase of 132 sq miles. Transport for London's ULEZ charges apply to all cars, motorcycles, and vans that do not meet their emission requirements, this charge is currently set at 12.50 per day. In May 2020, Conservative Greater London Authority (GLA) member Keith Prince quizzed the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, with regards to scrapping the ULEZ charge for motorcycles considering their vital role in facilitating deliveries and their efficient use of road space The London Mayor responded by saying, "The ULEZ is about reducing emissions specifically NOx and PM from vehicles and is not a direct congestion management scheme. The leading reason for the UK Governments move to E10fuel in the UK is to help combat climate change. While the introduction of E10 fuel is good for the environment and reducing CO2 levels, you mightnotice that your fuel economy has taken a bit of a hit with the Government reporting a 1% reductionwhile other sources referencing numbers as high as 5%. Can E10 fuel be used in all motorcycles? In short, no. The Government has advised that around 95% of all petrol-powered vehicles currentlyon the road are compatible with the new E10 fuel with this figure rising all the time with theadditions of new models.
